We install and replace interior doors — bedroom, closet, basement and other interior slab or pre-hung doors — including casing and trim to match the surrounding room. Often requested alongside a stair or flooring renovation, but it's a standalone service too.
What's included?

- Pre-hung or slab door installation, squared and shimmed to the rough opening
- Casing and trim to match or update the surrounding room
- Hardware installation — hinges, handles, locksets
- Bedroom, closet, basement and other interior door types
Before & after
How does it work?
- 01
Assessment
We measure the rough opening and check whether it's square, which determines whether a pre-hung unit fits cleanly or the opening needs adjustment.
- 02
Door and style selection
Slab vs. pre-hung, panel style and hardware are chosen based on the room and what's already in the home.
- 03
Removal and install
The old door (and frame, if it's being replaced) comes out, the new one is set, levelled and shimmed.
- 04
Casing and trim
Casing is fitted and finished to match or intentionally update the surrounding trim.
- 05
Hardware and final check
Hinges, handles and any lockset are installed and the door is checked for smooth operation before we call it done.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a pre-hung and a slab door?
A pre-hung door comes already set in its own frame with hinges attached, which is faster to install and squares up an out-of-level opening more easily. A slab door is just the door itself, hung in your existing frame — cheaper when that frame is already square and in good shape, but more labour if it isn't.
Can you match new doors to my home's existing trim and casing?
Yes — we can match existing casing profile and paint/stain finish, or use the door replacement as a chance to update the trim style throughout a room or hallway. We'll walk through both options during the site visit.
Do you install closet and bifold doors, not just standard swing doors?
Yes, including closet bifold, sliding and standard swing doors — the installation approach differs by type, and we'll confirm hardware and track requirements for bifold or sliding doors specifically before ordering material.
Can this be combined with interior painting?
Yes — new doors and casing are commonly finished with fresh paint at the same time, either as part of this service or paired with our interior painting service. We'll scope it as one project if that's what you're after.
Do I need a permit to replace an interior door?
A like-for-like interior door replacement in the same opening typically doesn't trigger a permit. Enlarging an opening or removing a wall section is a different scope — we'll flag it directly if your specific project crosses that line, and your local building department has the final say.
