Durham Stairs

Interior Painting in Durham Region

We paint interior walls, ceilings, trim and baseboards, including staircase stringers and risers and interior doors — as a standalone room refresh or bundled with a stair, door or flooring project so everything gets finished at once with one crew instead of coordinating separate painters and installers.

What's included?

  • Surface prep — patching, sanding, taping and masking
  • Wall and ceiling painting
  • Trim and baseboard painting
  • Staircase stringer and riser painting
  • Interior door painting, including doors we've just installed

Before & after

How does it work?

  1. 01

    Assessment

We check the surfaces being painted — existing finish, patching needed, and whether primer is required before topcoat.

  2. 02

    Prep

Surfaces are patched, sanded and masked, and floors and furniture are protected before any paint is opened.

  3. 03

    Priming

Bare patches, repairs or major colour changes get primed first so the topcoat finishes evenly.

  4. 04

    Painting

Walls, ceilings, trim or staircase elements are painted to the agreed colour and finish, typically in two coats.

  5. 05

    Cleanup and touch-up

Protection is removed, the space is cleaned, and we walk it with you for any final touch-up before calling it done.

Frequently asked questions

Do you paint staircases specifically, not just rooms?

Yes — staircase stringers, risers and skirting are a common request, especially paired with a stair refinishing or renovation project where the treads are refinished and the surrounding woodwork is painted at the same time.

How many coats of paint do you apply?

Two coats over primed or previously-painted surfaces is standard for even coverage and durability — bare wood, repairs or a major colour change (dark to light, or vice versa) usually need a primer coat first, which we'll flag during the assessment.

Do you move and protect furniture?

Yes — furniture is moved to the centre of the room or out entirely where needed, and floors, fixtures and anything staying in place are covered before we start.

Can you paint doors and trim you've also installed?

Yes — this pairs naturally with our interior door installation service, and we can prime and paint new doors, casing and trim as one project instead of coordinating two separate trades.

Do you help choose a colour, or do I need to bring my own?

Either — bring your own colour and we'll match it, or we'll talk through options during the site visit. We don't guess at undertones from a phone photo; a real sample against your lighting is the only reliable way to confirm a colour before painting a whole room in it.
